Join us in Pennsylvannia with Hillary

Dear Friend:
We are going to PA to campaign on Hillary’s behalf as a Pennsylvania HillStar! If there were ever a time to help with the campaign, it is NOW. Hillary needs our help in PA. Will you join me?
The campaign is asking for volunteers to travel to PA as Pennsylvania HillStars. They need our help every day between now and the primary, April 22. They will assign us a location and we will make our travel and accommodations accordingly. This is the best way we can help Hillary in these remaining days of the primary season. Volunteers are making the difference in this campaign. Let’s make history together!
We will be on the phones, canvassing, helping out at the polls and pitching in wherever we can. I hope and your friends will join us.
This is the kind of hands-on, grassroots effort that campaigns are made of! No political experience required – let’s do this together!

CONFERENCE PROGRAM Founder and CEO Will Present and Appear in Upfront & Unscripted
“Spotlight” Q&A with Chris Anderson
Norwalk, CT, March 12, 2008: Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos will take the
stage at BookExpo America (BEA) where he will present and appear in a special new
“Spotlight” edition of the popular Upfront & Unscripted (UU) interview series. Mr.
Bezos, who has participated in BEA once before in 2000 when he appeared as a keynote
speaker, will be interviewed by Chris Anderson, Editor-in-Chief of Wired Magazine.
BEA’s Upfront & Unscripted interviews have quickly become a highlight of conference
programming since they were introduced in 2006. The new “Spotlight” edition of this
series is being introduced to call attention to occasional interviews that deserve special
consideration because of their interest to the entire BEA audience. The interview
between Mr. Anderson and Mr. Bezos will take place on Friday, May 30 at 3:00pm in
Room 403AB at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
BEA organizers note that the addition of Mr. Bezos to convention programming
underscores BEA’s commitment to bringing all segments of the book industry together at
the annual event. “Amazon is a huge part of the book and publishing community and we
pride ourselves on representing the entire industry in one place,” notes Lance
Fensterman, Vice President and Show Manager for BEA. “Staging this exceptional
presentation by Mr. Bezos and the dialogue with Mr. Anderson to follow is a shining
example of the type of broad and timely conversation that we like to encourage at BEA.
We look forward to hearing about the progress of Kindle and Amazon’s growing digital
books business, as well other topics that not only apply to Amazon’s current and future
business but will touch on all areas of the book industry.”
Jeff Bezos, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University, is the President, Chief
Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of which he founded in 1994,
after writing up a business plan on a cross country drive from New York to Seattle. rapidly flourished and Mr. Bezos became one of the most prominent entrepreneurs in the 1990’s, and was selected as Time Magazine’s Man of the
Year in 1999. As noted, Chris Anderson is the Editor-in-Chief of Wired Magazine which
has won a National Magazine Award under his tenure, and he is also the author of The
Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More.
“We seem to have good luck with Mr. Bezos at BEA,” Fensterman concludes. “The last
time he was with us was right after he appeared on the cover of Time Magazine as Man of
the Year and this time we have him right after the introduction of Kindle. Different
times, different circumstances, but this year’s appearance should be as fitting and
opportune as it was when we played host to him in 1999.”

Collecting Books as Hobby and Business

On a Young Entrepreneur speaking engagement I spoke, on an open forum preceeded by being asked if I used a Book Scanner. Nowadays, book scanning is the high tech ingredient where you use your smart phone or blackberry integrated with a scanner. You scan the back of the book’s UPC, Bar Code or ISBN no.
My answer is that I do have the capability as it is a real cool dundy tool must have. However, on another side, I come from the old school of being a book reader, collector, dealer and then seller.
A book for me is a tool and guide for information and learning. I started reading Hardy Boys and Marvel Comics by DC when I was five. Then I also did speed reading and took pilot (beta test) schooling at that time which is commonly known as home study. As an army brat, I had to go into different schools and start over, thank GOD for being a accelerated student then.
The different kinds and variations of books is not only interesting but for me makes the sense why I collect books as passion, hobby and business.
If you are like me to loves learning new things, romance, and adventure then books might be something to think about.
Coming from the old school, I look for the First Printing or First Editions and can easily tell if a rare book is a BCE or blind copy.
Another question is value because it is how a person perceives books. Why then did we come up with the business model of
It is because the way I look for books is not to be to expensive that no one will buy it until you die or not too cheap as it was always a flea market style ( sounds familiar?).
Human factor is a big deal in the books business. Whether your bidding on ebay at user: affordable-books-and-things, at user: ADLE International, an librarians or even the rare phenomen with ABE Books Exchange (AFFORDABLEBOOKS).
Not the less, if you love doing what you do and love charity and giving with through us at

Why Hillary deserves Texas?

* Hillary Clinton has already delivered for Texas-350,000 children have insurance, 21,000 Texas National Guard troops have access to medical care and our state got $28 million to train more teachers.* After 8 years of President Bush, we need someone who will deliver urgentsolutions to the big economic problems we face by ending our housing crisisand jumpstarting our economy.* Hillary Clinton is the only candidate in this race with a Healthcare planto cover every American.* Hillary Clinton has roots in Texas- she went door to door to registervotes here three decades ago-her heroes Barbara Jordan-taught her courage,Bob Bullock, toughness, Ann Richards-determination.* Talk is Cheap. Hillary Clinton has a proven track record, grit and know-how to solve the toughest problems like the economy and health care-she willtake the Texas can-do spirit to the White House and there is nothing wecannot do.With all the challenges we face, we need a President who is ready to lead onday one. We need Hillary Clinton. She has the passion, strength, andexperience to give this country the new beginning it needs.
